Go Audio - The Limelight, Belfast

To be honest, I knew what to expect on that sunny Easter Sunday afternoon at the Limelight before I even arrived - as like many of these types of bands, McFly, Fall Out Boy, Busted etc - loads of teenage girls outnumbering guys at least 7:1, which means loads of wild screaming. And that's what we got! The crowd seemed familiar with Dublin pop-punk outfit The Shower Scene as they rallied about the stage trying to build up their fanbase with songs like 'You Ain't Got This' and 'Notice Me' and by the look of the merch table after their stage time, deservedly gaining a few more fans with a tight and decent performance. Next up, London-based Saving Aimee came onto stage with the screams of those teenage girls and fired into their slightly vain introduction of, "When I say Saving, You Say Aimee, Saving...Aimee!", which by the way didn't work that well. Despite the singer's jeans ripping and his crowd-surfing, I don't think Saving Aimee's performance was as good as The Shower Scene previously. But that soon was all forgotten about after about twenty minute wait - the lights dimmed and with the keyboard glowing with the help of some Christmas lights, out came Zac, guitarist of Go:Audio followed by Andy (drums), Josh (keyboard) and frontman and vocalist James. Go:Audio started off with a super version of 'Brake Brake' to get the crowd going and followed it up with 'You Don't Have To', 'Raise Your Glass' and 'Why'. Go:Audio's pop-rave phenomenon was quite distinctive in their single versions of 'Drive to the City' and 'She Left Me' which really showed me what this band was about and certainly made their performance stand out for me. Nearing the end of the gig, Go:Audio seemed surprised and it showed everytime James said to the other bands members, "This is crazy, they so loud!" and followed it up later with, "This has been the best show, not just on this tour, but ever!". I think it's for certain now that Go:Audio will be back and it's fact that this pop-rave music now has eight-feet to stand on in Go:Audio!
